COVID-19 ver1.0

COVID-19 ver 1.0

In connection with the outbreak of COVID-19, many national boundaries, as well as training facilities are closed and as a result, it may be impossible to revalidate existing Type or Class rating privileges, as well as instructor and / or examiner privileges before these expire.

EASA has given the option of seeking “Exemption” for this.

The following are applicable in order to provide “Exemption”:

“Exemption” is only given to Part-ORO organizations / AOC holders.

• “Exemption” applies only to commercial Part-FCL certificates, and only applies when operating under a Part-ORO organization.

• “Exemption” is only granted if it is documented that COVID-19 is the reason why privileges cannot be maintained.

• “Exemption” can only be granted for privileges that expire before July 31, 2020.

• “Exemption” is only granted if the type or class rating privileges is valid.

• “Exemption” is given for 4 months for Type and class rating privileges.

• “Exemption” is only granted if the Instructor and / or examiner privileges is valid.

• “Exemption” is given for 8 months for instructor and examiner privileges.

In order to extend Type and class rating privileges by 4 months, the Part-ORO organization must provide the holder with "refresher training", as well as any additional measures they have deemed necessary to maintain the pilot's competencies, including: "class or type - specific abnormal and emergency procedures "

Refresher training is not required to extend Instructor and Examiner privileges.

Part-ORO organizations must delegate an examiner who ensures that the above is met - after which the examiner extends the pilot's Type - or Class rating privilege in the Flight Crew Licence.

For Danish certificates, the Examiner must take a copy of the endorsed Flight Crew Licence and send it together with a copy of his own examiner's certificate, as well as a copy of the “Exemption” awarded to the organization, to:
